How To Choose The Right Residence Colour

May 23rd 2018

There is a widespread expectancy nowadays amongst householders that replacement window and door systems should be available in a very broad choice of coloured finishes. It is an entirely reasonable demand as window and door colouring technology has dramatically advanced in recent years.

Classic black and white finishes will never lose their popularity, of that there is no doubt, but it’s essential that window and door specialists like ourselves provide more colour choice and we certainly do that with the Residence Collection.

Don’t be overawed by the amount of choice you have, just think about the following points before committing to a final finish:

– Take into consideration the type of brickwork utilised in the building and try and complement it as best you can with your window / door colour.

– Stay true to the age of the property. A Tudor house typically suits dark window frames, while a nice, bright white works particularly well with Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian house styles.

– When opting for something bold and outside of the usual conventional colours, take inspiration from everything that surrounds the property e.g. sun, sea, sky, hills. Try not to go too extreme though. Observe neighbouring houses as well to see what they have done and find a look you love.

– Your new windows / doors should suitably match your exterior and interior. This could be best achieved by selecting a dual finish with contrasting finishes on either side of the window / door frame.
