Residence Architecture – Antonio Gaudi

Gaudi is arguably one of history’s most recognised artist. His architectural style is recognised throughout the world.

His works were influenced by his passions in life – nature and religion- and took natural forms in his established Modernism meets Neo Gothic style.

Gaudi was a Roman Catholic and a deeply religious man. His most famous work includes the Church Sagrada Familia which to this day it is the most visited building in Spain. Taking over the project from fellow architect Francisco de Paula del Villar in 1883, Gaudi devoted his life to this project. At the time of Gaudi’s death in 1926, less than a quarter of the project was complete and it is said that the church is set to be finished in 2026 – 100 years after Gaudi died.

Some of Gaudi’s work, including the globally famous Sagrada Familia, the Park Guell and the Casa Mila, have been granted World Heritage Status by UNESCO. A true testament to his truly remarkable  style of art.
