Have you come up with your New Year’s Resolutions yet? Maybe if it’s been quite some time since you last gave your home some attention you could prioritise making some home improvements to create a better living space in 2019.
But before you get to work, it helps to discover what’s currently new and exciting in the world of interiors and what trends are set to emerge over the next 12 months.
This year we have seen sales of skylights rocket, increased use of smart technology and kitchens become extremely colourful.
Though it’s difficult to know what home trends will cause a stir in 2019, we have an idea of what some of them might be…
The year’s hottest colour is set to be Spiced Honey after it was announced as being Dulux Colour of the Year for 2019.
You can envisage what it might look like, but to put it into context, Dulux have described Spiced Honey as “a warm amber tone, inspired by the beauty and versatility of honey itself.”
Following on from their decision to crown Spiced Honey as their Colour of the Year, Dulux released a guide to how you can inject the colour into your home. Click here to read it.
You will see far fewer blank ceilings as people take to decorating the so-called “fifth wall” in their houses to create a statement ceiling.
Applying an attractive coat of paint to your ceiling is the simplest way to give your ceiling an eye-catching splash of colour. Just make sure that the colour you choose matches or at least complements your accent walls and décor.
You can be a bit more adventurous than that if you’re feeling daring and add a prominent three-dimensional or Geometric design.
If you’re a fan of floral patterns you are in luck as they’ll be springing up everywhere over the coming months.
Many of our biggest and best known online and High Street retailers are already stockpiling throws, pillows, bedding, rugs and various forms of soft furnishings with fabulous floral patterns in readiness for the New Year.
Keep use of florals to a minimum with just the odd floral patterned statement piece included in your chosen room/s as too many florals could be a little too much for one to take.
What we know is definitely on-trend now and will continue to be in the future is the Residence Collection. We have installers waiting to integrate this premium window and door system for you.
