Guild Home Improvements (GHI), one of our approved R9 installers, recently took a call from a famous face who needed a new window installation for an historic post office.
Laura Hamilton, a presenter on Channel 4’s ‘A Place In The Sun’, together with her husband, has saved the stunning Lord Roberts on the Green in Purley, a joint Post Office and village shop that closed its doors last August.
Ahead of reopening the store and converting part of it into a new deli and café, the pair contacted GHI, specialists in double glazing throughout London, and appointed them to fit suitable replacement windows for such a celebrated building.
It was of the upmost importance to replace the windows at the Post Office by fusing traditional aesthetics with modern materials to create an elegant and energy efficient, maintenance free window.
The window chosen has a No.10 black finished outer frame, paired with white sashes, generating a beautiful contrast of colours.
It is hard to believe that they are not the original windows as the restoration of the Post Office manages to reflect the natural charm and beauty of the estate.
