Elevate your home: Embrace the essence of Noir windows

Black window frames have experienced a surge in popularity within the realm of home design recently, with a 22% search increase over the last month1. This surge can be attributed to their status as a striking design element that seamlessly combines classic and modern aesthetics.

Numerous factors contribute to the growing appeal of black frames, including their often sleek and contemporary appearance, which imparts a modern touch to the home. The dark frames introduce an air of sophistication and contemporary flair, making them a favoured option for individuals seeking a modern design aesthetic.

A more unique advantage to Noir windows is that they can enhance views. The dark frame of the Noir windows tends to draw less attention than light frames, allowing the eye to focus on the scenic view outside. This is particularly beneficial if you have picturesque surroundings or a beautiful garden.

The Noir window is extremely versatile, completing a range of architectural styles, from modern and minimalistic to traditional and rustic. Their neutral colour allows them to blend seamlessly with different exterior and interior design elements.

The Residence Collection offers their Noir colourway in all of their window collections; R9, R7 and R², with all systems offering Noir on both sides or with a Chalk White (R7, R2) or Grained White (R9) interior.

Noir is pure black boasting an unsurpassable depth and an almost velvet like texture, adding structure and personality to any home.

The Residence Collection’s R7 Noir project

The premium window and door designer, The Residence Collection, have recently added 20 of their Residence 7 windows in the Noir colourway to a Shropshire home.

In collaboration with installer, RS Burgess & Sons and fabricator, Stedek Windows and Doors, this architect designed property specified R7 windows in Noir due to the range’s flush external and internal profile. Noir was the preferred colour choice because of the smooth texture it boasts. This choice ensured a contemporary look that compliments the equal sightlines with the architecture designed by ARH Architectural Design. The contrast of the white render and timber cladding against the black windows creates a striking visual impact.

Using the timberweld joint manufacturing method to mimic a traditional timber joint, a combination of side and top hung opening casements with some fixed casements were added to complete the property.

As well as achieving the desired design feature outperforming visually, the Residence 7 windows are also a great choice for energy efficiency. With a A++ energy rating and reaching a u-value of 1.2Wm2k as standard with double glazing, these windows are outstanding in every aspect. This particular range is also available in 24 different colourways including the Noir.

Jo Trotman, Marketing Manager at The Residence Collection said, “Our commitment lies in providing a range of homes with windows that not only enhance the architectural style of the new-build but also ensure long-lasting guaranteed performance.

“Our Noir colourway is becoming increasingly popular and this modern contemporary property perfectly showcases how window colours can elevate a property’s aesthetic whilst still offering high performance and energy efficiency properties.”
