Case Study – Painswick on Chalk White

Nested in a small town in South East Herefordshire, a stunning property has been transformed with brand new windows and doors. Courtesy of The Residence Collection and installer Perfect Choice, four windows and three doors have been fitted into this beautiful Edwardian home.

The 1890s brick house featured old 1970s PVCu windows, which the owners wanted to replace with modern timber alternatives that would meet today’s Building Regulations as part of their wider project.

They chose The Residence Collection’s R7 range. The versatile designs have a flush internal and external aesthetic, achieving a clean, elegant look ideal for both contemporary and traditional homes. The installer Perfect Choice fitted four windows, a charming stable door and two inward-opening doors with Cassini glass panels – all from the R7 collection.

Embracing modern manufacturing, R7’s sophisticated seven-chamber design provides a high-quality, beautifully flush and low maintenance product. Performance-wise, the system delivers excellent acoustic and thermal properties – including an A++ energy rating and the option of double or triple glazing, the latter offering U-values as low as 0.79.

A choice of jointing techniques is available to enable an individual design statement. Shown here is the Timberweld manufacturing method, whereby the profiles are welded, but both the internal and external faces portray a mechanical look – just like a timber window.

The range is available in over 20 colours to fit customers’ individual style requirements. The clients took advantage of The Residence Collection’s dual-colour system, which allows for a different finish on each side of the frame, selecting Painswick for the exterior and Chalk White internally.
